TI Fiji on the Airwaves

31/01/2010

Corruption was the topic of conversation this month when TI Fiji staff and Board members took to the airwaves, appearing on various national radio talkback shows.

Speaking on English as well as Hindi and Fijian vernacular radio programs, TI Fiji representatives were able to answer questions about corruption and provide essential information about anti-corruption services available to listeners.

Stations visited included the Lautoka-based MixFM as well as Suva-based stations GoldFM, VitiFM, Radio Fiji 1 and Radio Fiji 2. Topics of the on-air discussions included the history of TI Fiji, ALAC‟s free legal assistance and referral services as well as the NICE youth drama competition 'The Challenge 2010'.

TI Fiji staff who participated in these discussions were pleased to note the positive response from listeners, who called in to offer comments, ask questions and many also contacted the TI Fiji office for assistance.

In the coming year, TI Fiji hopes to continue to raise its profile for the benefit of the greater community, ensuring they are equipped with accurate, relevant information that will empower them in the fight against corruption.
